Vietnam established the AI Ethics Committee, committed to responsible AI development
Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) has announced the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Ethics Committee.
At the conference “Safe Artificial Intelligence – Shape Responsible Innovation” held in Hanoi, Professor Yoshua Bengio had a dialogue on “Responsible AI and the importance of AI in education”.
Professor Yoshua Bengio believes that the most important thing is that technology development must go hand in hand with the protection of human rights and sustainable development of society.
According to Professor Yoshua Bengio, AI is developing rapidly, data efficiency has increased by 30%, algorithm performance has tripled;
However, experts also see that this rapid progress raises troubling questions about the ability to control AI systems that are smarter than humans.
At the conference, the Vietnam Software and Information Technology Services Association (VINASA) announced the establishment of the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee.
The creation of the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee represents Vietnam’s efforts to build an AI ecosystem where innovation is developed within an ethical framework, ensuring global competitiveness and protecting the environment.
The committee’s mission is to guide Vietnam’s AI development roadmap, ensure that AI is deployed according to ethical standards, innovate with social benefits and promote a favorable legal environment for the WHO.
It can be seen that the launch of the AI Ethics Committee demonstrates Vietnam’s strong commitment to join forces with the international community to solve the complex challenges and opportunities that AI brings.
